This is a survey about Linux related hardware features of
the Siemens-Fujitsu E-6595 (E-series). I don't try to explain the usual
installation details (for instance, which partitions I have
made). This document is based uppon "lanoche" by Werner Heuser.
On my Siemens-Fujitsu E-6595 I have installed the Debian 3.0 Woody Linux distribution.
Currently this is called the "testing" tree of debian.

These are the informations you would get with the kernel-pcmcia
My Elsa MC-11 only worked with the newly compiled pcmcia sources, after
I loaded wvlan_cs. SO don't forget to compile /wirelss/* from the
pcmcia-sources too.This should work...
Graficcard is an ATI Rage M4 Mobility. XFree4 had no Problems
with this card
Alsaconf 0.5x will not detedct this Intel8x0 Soundcard.
Like pcmcia you have to disable all sound stuff except
the soundcore module in the linux kernel an compile
alsadriver on your own. Don't forget to load the modules
after compilation.
I have some problems using APM wih my selfcompiled soundsystem.
It seems to be a bug in the Kernel APM, cause APM crashes to a kernel trap.
Also APM Shutdown hangs while syncing the hardware clock.

This is a eepro100 compatible PCI-Card. SO activate
the kernel support for this card an load the modules.
